The primary goal of the exterior redesign of Evlaia Hotel in Skopelos was to harmoniously blend the building’s traditional architecture with a fresh, contemporary approach to the pool area. Every design choice— from spatial layout to materials, colors, and volumes—was guided by the desire to create a space that allows guests to unwind and experience an unforgettable spatial journey.
The soft curves of the pool, combined with earthy tones and the interplay of light and shadow, create a mesmerizing atmosphere. The multi-level design integrates seamlessly with the natural surroundings, offering different perspectives while functionally defining the space. The separation between the breakfast area and the pool is elegantly achieved through grand arches, which frame captivating views of the landscaped scenery.
Natural materials such as stone, wood, and the pool’s textured plaster finish contribute to a relaxing, warm, and inviting environment that exudes both luxury and elegance. The elevated breakfast terrace, which extends into the pool’s shape, provides uninterrupted views of Skopelos Town, enhancing the sense of openness.
Additionally, the infinity-edge pool enhances the unobstructed view while the gentle sound of flowing water adds to the tranquil ambiance. Strategically placed greenery further enriches the space, complementing the natural beauty of the island.
The architectural orchestration of the exterior is carefully crafted to embrace all these elements, achieving a balance of harmony and aesthetics—transforming the hotel into an unforgettable summer retreat.
